Mangalore Bun
Mangalore
Bun has slightly sweetish flavor and is soft and fluffy. Mangalore Bun is
made through-out the Karnataka Malnad and Karavali region where this is
typically served as snack with coffee and tea. This however can be a good
breakfast item. You can adjust sugar quantity to suit your taste for
sweetness.

Ingredients
|
Fully Ripe Banana
Wheat Flour
All-purpose flour/ Maida
Sugar
Curd/ Yogurt
Cumin seeds
Salt
Baking powder
Oil

1 big
1 Cup
½ Cup
1.5 Tbsp.
1 Tbsp.
1 Tsp.
½ Tsp.
½ Tsp.
To deep fry

Method
1. Mash the banana
or blend in a mixer jar
2. Knead all the
ingredients in a mixing bowl except the oil
3.
Let the dough rest for 3 hours
4.
Knead the dough and divide into ping-pong ball size
5.
Dust with all-purpose flour and roll it to the size of
puri (should be a little thicker than puri)
6.
Heat oil to deep fry
7.
Deep fry the buns to golden brown color
8.
Drain to a tissue paper.
9.
Serve hot with Coconut chutney!!
