Moong Dal Rasam
This
rasam is ideal on cold days. You can also add red chilli and turmeric powder
while the rasam boils according to your taste. Garlic can also be used to
season the rasam. It tastes simply wow when you want something simple and
tasty as well J

Cumin Seeds

Tamarind Paste
Salt / Jaggery

Method
1. In a pan dry
roast the moong dal, cumin seeds and pepper (Garlic can also be roasted with
these ingredients) till the moong dal turns to golden color. Let it cool.
2. Dilute the
tamarind paste by add 11/2 cup of water. In another vessel boil tamarind
water with salt and jaggery.
3. Grind the roasted
ingredients to powder consistency. Add this powder and curry leaves to the
boiling tamarind water.
4. Let it boil
nicely, taste check J
6. Serve with steamed rice.
