Masala Puri
Masala puri is a one of the popular chaat item served in Bangalore. Green peas gravy served with crushed puri and topped with chopped onion, chopped tomatoes and chopped coriander leaves. For a variation you can add the sweet and spicy green chutney before you serve masala puri. Enjoy the recipe !!!

Green Peas
Moong Dal
Boiled Potato
Onion
Ginger Garlic Paste
Oil

Method
1. In a pressure cooker cook the green peas and
moong dal separately.
2. Chop onion roughly.
3. Heat a pan with oil. Add onion and sauté till pink
in color. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Let it cool.
4. In a blender add the above ingredients in “to
grind” with the cooked moong dal and sauted onion. Grind to a smooth paste.
5. Now heat a table spoon of oil in a pan and pour
the paste. Add water to the paste so that it has a consistency of milkshake.
Mix well. Add salt accordingly. Let this mixture come to a nice boil. Cook on
low to medium heat.
6. Peel and mash the potato. Add this to the boiling
paste. Let it cook for 4-5 minutes. Now add the cooked green peas. Let this
whole mixture cook for 9-10 minutes. Put off the heat.
7. Now to serve, take a plate / bowl, pour the
masala, add crushed puri’s , add chopped onion and tomatoes. Garnish with
coriander leaves and serve with a piece of lime / lemon.
