Peas
Masala Chat (Muttar Chat) is an Orissa delicacy that I learnt from my friend Lakshmi. This
is almost similar to Masala Puri that we get to enjoy in Bangalore.
Easy to
make and chatpata to taste!

Ingredients

Green Peas
Potato
Red Chilli Powder
Tamarind Paste
Salt
Oil

Method
1. Cook green peas and potato in a pressure cooker
for 4-5 whistles.
2. Grind the above ingredients in “to grind” to a
smooth paste. Mash potato as well.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté the ground paste till
the raw smell is gone. Heat low to medium. Now add mashed potato, red chilli
powder, tamarind paste, salt and cooked peas. Mix well.
4. Let this mixture boil nicely and slowly. You can
add chaat masala too at this point.
5. Put off the stove.
6. Arrange this peas masala in a plate/bowl topped
with chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, coriander leaves and mixture.
7. Serve hot.
