Menthe Tambli


As I have already posted some varieties of Tambli (Curd based curries from South Canara – Udupi), this is Methi based Tambli which good for health too while being yummy. I will post one more variant of this soon.

Fenugreek Seeds / methi / Menthe
Cumin Seeds
Grated Coconut
Salt & Sugar
Well beaten curd
Red Chillies
1 Tsp.
½ Tsp.
1 Tbsp. Heap
To taste

Mustard
Masala Mirchi / Balaka
Asafetida

Curry leaves

Method
1.  With a little oil, roast cumin seeds, red chillies and methi till brown in color. Let it cool.
 
2.  Grind the roasted mixture above along with coconut and ¼ cup of water to a smooth paste.
 
3.  To the well beaten curd, add salt and sugar. Pour the ground paste to the curd and mix well.
4.  Do the seasoning and pour over the Tambli.
 
5.  Relish with hot rice.
