Chilli Kurma
Chilli
kurma is a spicy side dish for biryani / fried rice. Goes well with roti /
paratha. My friend Srilakshmi actually prepares this dish with capsicum. The
spicier the tastier the dish is.

Ingredients
|
Chopped Long Chillies
Onion
Roasted Peanuts
Roasted Sesame
Cumin coriander Powder
Chilli Powder
Tamarind Paste
Salt
Oil

1 Cup
1 medium
1 Tbsp.
2 Tbsp.
1 Tsp.
1 Tsp.
½-1 Tsp.
To Taste
2 Tbsp.

Method
1. Chop green
chillies to small pieces. Chop onion roughly.
2. With a teaspoon
of oil, sauté chopped onion. Add red chilli powder and cumin powder and mix
well. Sauté for 4-5 minutes. Let it cool.
3. Grind roasted
onion with roasted peanuts and sesame seeds to a smooth paste and set aside.
4. With oil heated
in a pan, sauté chopped long chillies on low to medium heat for 9-10 minutes.
5. Now add the
ground paste, tamarind paste and salt to the fried green chillies. Mix well.
Adjust the consistency of the kurma by adding ½ cup of water.
6. Let the mixture
boil on the same heat. Cook till done.
7. Mirchi / Chilli
kurma ready to serve.
