Uddina Hittu
When you
feel lazy to cook or when you are tired of regular food, try out Uddina
Hittu. Uddina Hittu with Balaka (Fried stuffed Chilli) and Coconut oil is a
heavenly dish with hot rice J. This is a Udupi relish. Uddina
Hittu tastes better if the curd used is a little sour.

Urad Flour
Curd
Grated Ginger
Salt

Method
1. Whisk the curd with salt and grated ginger.
2. In a mixing bowl add urad flour and slowly mix it
with curd.
3. Mix well, see that there are no lumps.
4. Add ¼ -1/2 cup of water and adjust the
consistency.
5. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard. Once it starts
spluttering add urad dal and roast till they turn light in color. Add chopped
green chillies, curry leaves and asafetida.
6. Pour the seasoning and garnish with coriander
leaves. Serve Uddina Hittu with Fried Stuffed Chilli (Balakai), Coconut Oil and Onion slices with hot rice!!
