Sorekai Tambli / BottleGourd Tambli


Tambli can either be prepared with buttermilk or curd. Usually I don’t discard the seeds of bottle gourd. I use them to make Bottle Gourd / Sorekai Tambli! Tastes well and goes well with hot rice.

Bottle gourd / Sorekai
Grated Coconut
Curd
Salt
Sugar
½ Cup
1 Tbsp.
½ Cup

A Pinch
Seasoning
Mustard
Cumin seeds
Masala Chilli
Curry Leaves
Oil
Asafetida

Method
1.  Bottle gourd cut into small pieces as well as the discarded seed potion can also be used.
2.  Cook it with a little water till done.
3.  Once it cools down drain the water.
4.  Add fresh / frozen coconut to the cooked bottle gourd and grind it into a smooth paste.
5.  Meanwhile whisk the curd well.
6.  Take it out into a bowl, add salt, sugar and whisked curd. Mix well.
7.  Season with the above ingredients and pour over the Tambli.
8.   Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
