Masala Toast
Toast is
one of the super duper items at any of the Iyengar’s bakeries in Bangalore!! You can either make a sandwich or as open
toast.

Cumin Powder

Method
1. Grate the
carrots. Chop onion and tomato. Finely chop the green chillies.
2. Heat oil in a
pan. Season with the above “seasoning” ingredients.
3. Add onion to the
pan and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add salt and mix well. Add cut tomatoes and
the dry powders (Cumin, Coriander, Turmeric). Mix well and cook for 3-4
minutes.
4. Add grated
carrot and coriander leaves and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Set aside this masala.
5. Toast the bread
with a little butter on both the sides. Spread the prepared masala on one
side of the bread.
6. You can serve
either this way or as a sandwich. You can also add ketchup or any green
chutney on the bread if required.
