Mango Rice / Maavinkai Chitranna
This dish is prepared during Ugadi festival
famous in Karnataka. If one loves lemon rice am sure you will love this rice
too.

Cooked rice
Grated Mango
Green chillies
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Coriander Leaves
Grated Coconut

Method
1. Cook the rice separately and fluff them to separate
each grain.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, wait till it
splutters.
3. Now add the dals and peanut. Roast till light in
color.
4. To this add green chillies, curry leaves and
grated mango.
5. Sauté on medium to low now for 5-6 minutes.
6. Add salt and turmeric powder, mix well.
7. Switch off the flame.
8. Mix this mixture with cooked rice.
9. Garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut
and serve.
Note: Raw mango is used. The quantity
of mixing the grated mango depends on the sourness of the mango. Sometime you
can add the grated mango directly instead of sautéing the mango while mixing
it to the cooked rice.
