Beans Palya / Beans Dry Curry
Beans Palya is usually
a side dish accompanied by a main dish like Tomato Saaru / Rasam or may be
Curd Rice or Chapati too. Other veggies which can also be pan fried with
beans are carrot, beetroot or their combination too.

Ingredients
|
Green Beans
Green Chillies
Grated Coconut
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Jaggery

|
Mustard
Urad Dal
Asafetida
Oil

½ Tsp.
1 Tsp.
Pinch

Method
1.
Chop beans finely and slit green chillies.
2.
In a pan, heat oil, add mustard and Urad dal.
3.
After the seasoning, add chopped beans, slit green chillies,
turmeric powder and curry leaves.
4.
Add a little water and cover the pan.
5.
Cook till the beans are done but they still stay crunchy.
6.
Add grated coconut, salt and jaggery and mix well.
7.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
8.
Serve with hot rice and Rasam.
Note: Beans
can also be pressure cooked without water. Drain the water if any after pressure
cooking. After the seasoning add the beans, green chillies, coconut, salt and
jaggery.
Mix well and
cook for 4-5 minutes.
